southern california is always an amazing place for people. Surfing, swimming, movie star, and high tech companys.....so many natural and non-natural things attract tourists from all over the world to this wonderland. Since my husband's new project in San diego, I got my opportunity to take an adventure to this place.

 

San Diego

Before I went to San Diego, many friends told me that it was a nice place to go, the sunshine, the beach, the welcomy local people and the delicious mxician people. When i arrived there, everything is right except the food. Maybe i got spoiled by the chinese food, so even though the mexician food is tasty, i don't have any interest on it. But too bad, besides the mexician food in San Diego, there aren't many choices for me. I went to a brazil restuarant, the food is just so so, and the price is so expensive; I went to a local mexico restuarant, it was horrible; the italian reatuarant in little italy was ok, but besides all , nothing i can eat.

But if you put the food issue away, you may find many interesting places to go in San diego, such as the Sea world. I was very impressed by the dolphin and killer whale show. It was not only an animal show, but also adds quite a few spirtal things to it. It called "believe." A little boy love the ocean and the whale, so he decides to become a whale trainer. There is a natural bond between humans and animals, we are always connected with eath other. Many audiences were touched by the show, and talking about it even they left. Another nice place is the waterfront of San diego.The blue ocean, white bird, beautiful people walking along, what a nice picture!

 

Los angeles

This city has a beautiful name, but itself is not that beautiful. It is big, compact, and polluted. On the other hand, L.A is also vigrous, active. You can always find interesting things there. The disneyland is a hit for me. I have been dreaming to go there since i was a little kid, but now my dream comes true, thanks honey! I had picture with minney, and mickey, and even pluto. I have been to the snow white's castle, and in Alice wonderland. I tried the Indiana Jones' car, and visited Winne the pooh too. So many attractions, and so many peoples. I don't want to leave at all. In addition, Hollywood blvd is also very attractive. I found the stars of beatles, Johny Depp, ..the stars i like.

But most of all, the reason i drove 2 hours to L.A is the delious chinese food there. Finally, i had my little sheep hot pot which i dreamed every night, and also the Ajisen noodle. I haven't tried them since i came to us. They even had Xu Liu Shan there. I wish seattle can have them all, in this case, i don't need to come down to LA to try them. Visiting chinatown is the tradition of our family, actually, i should say of my husband. Whereever he goes, besides china, he will find out the chinatown there, and go visit, what a good boy! the LA chinatown is huge, couple times that of seattle.

 

Afterall, the trip to southern california is not bad. it is one of the most prosperous place in the united states. and so far, i have visited almost all the major cities in west coast, maybe next time, try the east coast!

Just not a long time ago did i finish my blog about the unforgetable snowy storm that i had on monday night in november, i got another big storm in seattle again. But this time, it's not snow, but the wind and rain. I have never seen such a strong wind before even though i had experienced the typhoon every summer when i was still in Shanghai.

That windy storm is so powerful that it makes the whole big seattle area out of power, 700,000 people had no electricity, and so far 13 people died.Seattle is famous for its evergreen trees, but those trees made a big mess this time. They broke down the power line above the ground, block the road and streets, and crash the house.

As the last storm is still fresh in my mind, i have another personal experience about this new storm. Unfortunately, this time, it was not good either. I supposed to have my TOEFL  test on the second day of the stormy night. Since, the whole city was out of power, my test had to be cancelled, and i have to reschedule another one later. it is my last test for the application, and i already made plan for the time after test, but now everything is changed.

I guess sometimes, the way that  the thing goes is not always what you want. And i can do now is to fit for it. Luckily, we got free hotel room from husband's cousin after power outage, and met my cutest nephew from san francisco.
